DSTV Decoder: Tuning In!

1. On your remote, press: "Menu" button.

2. Scroll down to option "7" entitled: "Advanced Options" then push: "OK".

3. On the new list which appears, select option: "1" entitled: "Dish Installation", and press "OK".

4. On the PIN CODE prompt type in: "9949". The next screen to appear is the "Network Configuration" menu.

5. Now scroll down to: "2", press the "Left Arrow Key" until "Other" appears in the active box, then press: "OK".

6. You are now in the" Network 2 Configuration" Screen. Scroll down to option: "6" entitled "Frequency", activate it by pressing: "OK".

7. Type in: "12562" and press "OK".

8. Go to option: "7" entitled: "Symbol Rate" and press: "OK".

9. Type in: "26657" and press: "OK".

10. Go to the next option: "8" entitled: "FEC" and press: "OK".

11. Press the "Left Arrow Key" until "1/2" appears in the active box, then press: "OK".

12. Go to the next option: "9" entitled: "Polarisation" and press: "OK".

13. Press the "Left Arrow Key" to change it to: "Horizontal", then press: "OK".

14. Go to option: "11" entitled: "Accept All Displayed Values and Leave Screen" and press: "OK".

15. The network: "Network Configuration" menu is displayed again.

16. Go to option "5" entitled: "Scan New Networks" and press: "OK".

17. If option "5" is grayed out go to option: "6" entitled: "Scan All Networks" and press: "OK".

18. When the scan is complete it will return to the channel you were previously viewing!

Going to the Station:

Press the "TV" button on your remote.

Scroll down to "PAS7/10" and press: "OK".

You will now be able to view some Free-to-Air (FTA) channels.

To access the (FTA) Radio Stations, press: "Shift" and then the "TV" button again.

You should now be on the FTA Radio Stations.

Scroll through the station until you can find 1Africa.

Free-to-air:

Go to menu setup and run a "full" or "blind scan"; this should automatically pick up 1Africa, under radio stations.

If this process is unsuccessful please ensure the following is in order:

Your dish is aligned correctly to pick up PAS7/10 (68.5 degrees East)
Your transponder is capable of the following settings:
The Frequency is: 12.562 GHz or 12562 MHz
Symbol rate is: 26657 Ms
FEC Rate is: 1/2 (a half)
Polarization is: Horizontal
