THE BURNING QUESTION

Q

Who defines IDENTITY? Mon Aug 30 2010 9:08:37

Most people seem to know who they are and who everyone else should be. In almost every hip-hop track rappers are confidently proclaiming their top-notch, well-to-do and bling-bling identities. TV and radio infomercials are always prescribing what YOU need, what YOU gotta purchase, what will change YOUR life. We have stacks of books promising 5 Steps to the best You. We have people in our lives trying to describe who we are and what we can and cannot do. In times of crisis we sometimes run to experts…desperate to find ways out of our brokenness, hurt and confusion... desperate to find ourselves.

EVEN YOU

Are you pained by your past, ashamed of bad choices or your family history? Unsure of who or what defines you... the real you!

Or

YOU may FEEL good about you... FEEL as if you got it all figured out. You’re so positive that you want to shout it out loudly for the whole world to hear. But is your definition enough? Do positive affirmations or negative doubts tell the whole story of you? There must be more to your identity than what the world, trends, friends and feelings dictate. There must be something beyond fashion, our fears and trying to fit in. Who and what makes You You? What does God say about who you are and who you can become? My burning question is... in the journey of life, have you found the true you? What are your thoughts on these burning questions?
