Let your light shine
Matthew 28:18-20 - Then Jesus came to them (his disciples) and said "All authority on heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of age.

You have probably read or heard about this verse before, it is what is known as the Great Commission. The command given to us by Jesus, as his followers, to go out and tell everyone we know, about the ideal life that we were designed to live.

Often there are so many questions surrounding this topic and often, these questions do not seem to have the easiest answers. So how do we go about doing this? Is there a formula and what exactly should we tell them?

The truth of the matter is, the answer is fairly simple. If Jesus is telling us to go out and preach the good news to the world, surely Jesus knows what is required to fulfil this task and so we should, in essence, be looking to Jesus to figure out exactly how to tell the world. So the question is then really, what did Jesus do to tell the world about God?

In many accounts of Jesus’ ministry, Jesus used situations such as poverty, sickness and brokenness as an opportunity to lead people to God. This means instead of cornering people and forcing salvation down their throats, we can tell people about their provider, their healer and their restorer of whom they have need for. However, since we are all different (we were created this way on purpose), we will have different ways of sharing. This means we are not confined to one way of telling others. We can use experience, we can use the word, we can use relationship and we can use prayer to bring others closer to Christ.

So now the ball is in your court. As a Christian you have been given instructions how are you going about fulfilling the task?? Are you struggling to tell others about God?

Go on and let your light shine

Much Love
Brad and Tshego :)
